This weekend was one in which I behaved as a proper Sconie.
Saturday - The Great Taste of the Midwest Beer Festival! Hundreds of microbrews to sample in 5 hours. The most notable was a wheat beer that I have not been able to remember the name of. There was also a well balanced golden citrus beer that I really enjoyed. Again, the name escapes me. Met a lot of entertaining people. It was very hot. Afterwards, went to visit a couple of retired firefighters. They took us out on the lake, and we watched the sunset from the water. Some of the nicest people I've ever met.
Sunday - The Wisconsin State Fair. It's a family tradition, and we go for only two reasons: mouthwatering food, and painfully good people watching. The eggs and ice cream were fresh, and so were the mullets.
